Privacy Policy
RemindMe Labs ("we", "our", or "us") built the RemindMe app as a freemium service. This page informs you of our policies regarding the collection, use, and disclosure of personal data when you use our app and the choices you have associated with that data.
1. Information We Collect
We collect the minimum data necessary to provide the service:
Account data — If you sign in with Google: your name, email address, and profile photo (provided by Google). This is stored in Firebase (Google) and used only to identify your account.
Subscription status — Whether you are on a free trial or Pro plan, and when your trial started. Stored in Firebase Firestore.
App usage data — Reminders (title, time, repeat type) and habits (name, streaks, completion logs) are stored locally on your device in a SQLite database. They are never uploaded to our servers.
Voice recordings — If you record your own voice for reminders, recordings are stored locally on your device only. We never upload or access your voice recordings.
User preferences — Your name, voice settings, theme, language, and notification preferences are stored locally on your device via SharedPreferences.
Exercise detection data — If you enable "Dismiss with Exercise" on an alarm, we read your device's motion sensor (accelerometer) to count reps (jumping jacks, squats, push-ups). If you choose the "Squats (Camera)" option, we additionally use your front camera to detect your body pose via on-device machine learning (Google ML Kit). All of this processing happens entirely on your device — no motion data, camera frames, images, or video are ever recorded, saved, or transmitted anywhere. The camera feed is analyzed frame-by-frame in real time and immediately discarded.
2. Information We Do NOT Collect
We do not collect location data
We do not read your contacts, messages, or calendar
We do not run background analytics or tracking
We do not sell, trade, or rent your data to third parties
We do not display advertisements
3. Third-Party Services
The app uses the following third-party services, each with their own privacy policies:
Google Play Billing — handles subscription payments. Payment data is never seen or stored by us. Privacy Policy
Android Text-to-Speech — processes reminder text on-device. No data leaves your phone.
4. Permissions We Request
RECORD_AUDIO — Only used when you tap "Record New Voice" in the Saved Voices screen. We never access your microphone without your action.
CAMERA — Only used when you select "Squats (Camera)" as an alarm's dismiss method. The camera activates only while that alarm is ringing, to detect your body pose and count squats on-device. No footage is recorded or saved.
POST_NOTIFICATIONS — Required to deliver reminder notifications.
SCHEDULE_EXACT_ALARM — Required to fire reminders at the exact time you set.
RECEIVE_BOOT_COMPLETED — Re-schedules your reminders after the phone restarts so they are not lost.
VIBRATE — Vibrates when an alarm fires (if enabled in Settings).
INTERNET — Required for Google Sign-In and subscription verification only.
5. Children's Privacy
RemindMe is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe your child has provided personal information, please contact us and we will delete it immediately.
6. Data Retention & Deletion
Local data (reminders, habits, recordings) is deleted automatically when you uninstall the app. Firebase account data (name, email, subscription status) is retained until you request deletion. To delete your account data, email us at ab6091770@gmail.com with subject "Delete My Data" and we will remove it within 30 days.
7. Your Rights (GDPR)
If you are in the European Economic Area, you have the right to access, update, or delete your personal information. Contact us at any time to exercise these rights.
8. Security
Your account data in Firebase is protected by Google's industry-standard security. Local data on your device is protected by Android's app sandboxing — other apps cannot access RemindMe's data.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated effective date. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance.
Terms of Use
By downloading or using RemindMe, you agree to these Terms. Please read them carefully.
1. License
RemindMe Labs grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the RemindMe app for personal, non-commercial purposes on Android devices you own or control.
2. Subscriptions & Free Trial
RemindMe offers a 7-day free trial for new users. No credit card is required to start the trial.
After the trial, you may continue on the Free plan (up to 3 reminders and 3 habits) or upgrade to RemindMe Pro.
Pro subscriptions are billed through Google Play at $2.00/month or $16.00/year.
Subscriptions automatically renew. You can cancel at any time in Google Play → Subscriptions. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period.
Refunds are handled by Google Play's refund policy. We do not process refunds directly.
3. Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the app
Use the app for illegal purposes or to harass others
Attempt to gain unauthorized access to our servers or Firebase
Redistribute or resell the app or its content
4. Disclaimer of Warranties
RemindMe is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee that the app will be error-free, uninterrupted, or that reminders will fire in all circumstances (e.g., if your phone is off, in Do Not Disturb mode, or battery optimization kills the app).
Do not rely on RemindMe for time-critical medical reminders (e.g., insulin) without a backup method.
5. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, RemindMe Labs shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the app, including missed reminders or data loss.
6. Intellectual Property
The RemindMe name, logo, design, and code are the intellectual property of RemindMe Labs. You may not use them without written permission.
7. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of Nepal. Disputes shall be resolved in the courts of Kathmandu, Nepal.
8. Changes to Terms
We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. Material changes will be communicated via in-app notification. Continued use constitutes acceptance.

App activity (reminders, habits) — NOT collected. All stored locally on device only.
